Our Holiday Home
Well friends, I’m going to keep it real! Before Thanksgiving, I planned for this post to be all about my Christmas decor. I envisioned a tour of my house all decked out for the holidays with beautiful pics like the home tours you see on Pinterest.
I started writing and something totally different began to evolve. I decided to stop writing and start taking those Pinterest worthy photos with my new fancy camera. Turns out my daughter did not inherit her photography skills from me. I have played with the camera a little and watched several tutorials but I’m clueless!
My holiday home tour has become something totally different than I planned it to be, but it’s a true reflection of who I am and where I am in my life right now.
Guest Bedroom Makeover
The bedroom that belonged to all 3 of my kids at one time or another has gotten a makeover. My goal was to create a welcoming retreat for our guests on a budget. After graduating from high school, my son enrolled in our local college with a plan to transfer to a university after his first year. He wasn’t ready to leave the nest, and we were happy to have him at home for another year. That one year turned into four years. (It took him a little while to find his passion).
So when he left for the University of North Texas last fall, I was thrilled for a number of reasons. My boy found something he loved and was excited, he was only going to be 45 minutes away, and after 25 years of parenthood, I was finally going to get to add a guest bedroom to our home!!!Continue reading
