Homemade Holiday Stovetop Potpourri will fill your home with the aroma of citrus and spice and everything nice. It’s easy to put together and makes the perfect DIY gift. I’ve included free printable gift tags with instructions for heating.
Stovetop potpourri is one of my favorite ways to add a cozy holiday vibe to our home. The scent is amazing and smells so much better than any candle or plug-in. Not only does it smell better, but it doesn’t contain any ingredients that can make the air toxic like so many candles and plug-ins that may contain parabens, phthalates, carcinogens, fragrance chemicals, and allergens.
How To Make Holiday Stovetop Potpourri
To make this potpourri, you need just 5 simple ingredients that you may already have in your kitchen.
- 1 cup cranberries
- 1 orange (You can swap the orange for a grapefruit, a lemon, or an apple.)
- 1 tbsp cloves
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 2 sprigs of rosemary
Slice the orange, add all of the ingredients to a pot and cover with water. Simmer on low heat for as long as desired. Add more water as needed. The potpourri can be reheated for several days. Just continue to add more water as needed. You can also add the ingredients to your slow cooker and simmer on low, adding more water as needed.
